This week I have been getting my work together for portfolio, sketchbook and samples which has given myself time to relfect upon the work I have produced within the current project. Overall I think my collection has come together with regards to my digital prints through my experimentation with mark making prints. I think I have got the colours as close as I could in relation to the hand and lock breif, although the collection as a whole does have a mixture of colour I believe that their is a strong one out of them which suits best. I am always aware that the stitch side of things takes alot of time and I never feel like I judge the amount of time needed properly. This however has left me short of time to complete some samples which I am disappointed with however at this point I still have time to tweek before the show and aslong as its alright then I will accept this.

Week of 12th May 2014
This week I have concentrated on the portfolio, remounting
work from the previous project as well as the current. I have tried to create some visualisations to
show context within my work by demonstrating how it could be used within a fashion
context with garments. These are
visualisations of patterns from the previous unit that I find fitting to the current
fashion. These patterns are placed onto images from the current collection at Topshop
and ASOS and are just being used to show how my patterns could work within the contemporary.

After discovering a simple technique to create printed imagery
in an effective and delicate manor I have this week created some of my final
prints in which will be included within my final collection of samples. These prints are created by using my own photography
printed on acetate, which is then transferred by the method of damp paper,
which lifts the ink from the acetate to the paper. This leaves you the same
image but a lighter and sketchier effect. I really like this way of creating
prints as it is a way of using your own photography and changing it with the
effect that suits my particular type of work without using a programme like Photoshop.

After selecting some of the stronger prints I decided to use them to create design work in order to show how the images could be used with the designs for fabric. These are my favourite as I think it suits the fashion trends currently with its checks and stripes.

Week of 28th April 2014
This week after Easter I attended tutorial with two tutors this was a time to get ideas from someone new as well seeing what other student had been working on to the current. By the end of the tutorial, I had come to the decision that I needed to include some digital prints within my work similar to those included in previous projects. The main reason for this is the factor of time when it comes to embroidery, it is a time consuming activity and unfortunately do not have time within this unit to stitch all what I would like.
From studying and working from the imagery collated of rust I eventually realised I needed primary research which have led into the series of relevant photographs. I needed more imagery in order to create more ideas for work. I knew I wanted to include some sort of digital prints and wanted to create designs by own mark making the obvious at first was rust printing. I have carried out a number of times rust on paper as well as fabrics and have realised although I found some of the marks interesting they were not exactly the path I wanted to take my work down.
Jennifer Coyne Qudeen work below who influence this work.My own rust prints, after trying out a few rust objects some worked well and some not so well.
