Week of 28th April 2014

This week after Easter I attended tutorial with two tutors this was a time to get ideas from someone new as well seeing what other student had been working on to the current. By the end of the tutorial, I had come to the decision that I needed to include some digital prints within my work similar to those included in previous projects. The main reason for this is the factor of time when it comes to embroidery, it is a time consuming activity and unfortunately do not have time within this unit to stitch all what I would like.

From studying and working from the imagery collated of rust I eventually realised I needed primary research which have led into the series of relevant photographs. I needed more imagery in order to create more ideas for work. I knew I wanted to include some sort of digital prints and wanted to create designs by own mark making the obvious at first was rust printing. I have carried out a number of times rust on paper as well as fabrics and have realised although I found some of the marks interesting they were not exactly the path I wanted to take my work down.
Jennifer Coyne Qudeen work below who influence this work.

My own rust prints, after trying out a few rust objects some worked well and some not so well.
